Process Technician

SUMMARY:Operate various machines in production. Coordinate operation of the line with team. Assist with process improvement and FUNCTIONS: Operate machines during production and other runs. Perform machine setups and changeovers. Verify machine is set up to meet requirements to assure quality products. Assure compliance with production schedule. Maintain knowledge of production processes and related systems. Work with production team to troubleshoot problems with machine and product. Depending on division ensures raw materials meet quality standards. Provide input on new product development activities. Recommend product or process improvement strategies. Monitor production data such as scrap levels machine down time and defects. Provide basic training for team members. May assist training staff in developing training programs. Depending on division may service and operate test equipment. Participate in production improvement initiatives. Monitor variance and yields and take necessary action to correct or resolve discrepancies. Demonstrates Viaflex Team Member Values in their daily actions. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards. May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed. Learning understanding continuously improving and promoting the divisions quality management system in accordance with ISO standards. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate degree or military training in related technical field. Minimum 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and SKILLS & ABILITIES:Fully meets the competencies of a Machine Operator per division standards. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to direct the work efforts of other team members. Aptitude to learn electrical and/or mechanical skills. Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word and Excel. Team player who is self-motivated and has ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently. Basic math skills. Ability to read blueprints and work instructions and maintain accurate records. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Ability to operate forklift pallet mover or hoist equipment. Forklift certification may be REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:Physical Requirements: Required to sit stand walk bend and reach.
