Description of Service Opportunity:
The CPS Summer Skills Boost program is a four week focused summer program that provides high-impact tutoring for current 6-7 grade students with demonstrated academic needs in math and literacy.
The program will operate from 8:30-11:00am on Mondays -Thursdays at The Putnam Avenue School from July 6 to July 30. Students will be cohorted by home school (CSUS DVUS RAUC PAUS) and matched with school-based educators. Students will have a choice of accessing tutoring in-person or via Google Meet. The student teacher ratio will be 1:5.
The CPS Summer Skills Boost Instructional Coach under the direction of the Skill Boost Principal is responsible for the creation of curriculum and professional development and training of tutors. Specific duties include:

-Collaborate with the department staff to develop guidance for teachers utilizing district-provided summer academic curriculum including pacing and differentiation.
-Plan and facilitate for pre-program professional development for summer teaching staff.
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate.
MinimumRequirements:
CPS Summer Skills Boost Instructional Coach must have the ability to teach students with a range of learning needs in multi-age classrooms. MA DESE licensure in English 5-8 Mathematics 5-8 and/or Moderate Disabilities preK-8 preferred. Priority will be given to regularly appointed teachers from Cambridge Public School District.
Length of Contract: May 1June 30 2026

MayJune 2026: $50 per hour ($1000 not to exceed 20 hours)

Not exceed $1000.00
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exemptemployee and have worked more than 40 hours a week you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
