Provide compassionate care to both adult and pediatric patients who may have chemical electrical scald or thermal burns and/or complex wounds in the critical care setting. Be part of a Level One Trauma Center and Wisconsin s only ACS-verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center! Only verified pediatric and adult burn center in state of Wisconsin. Travelers may be assigned to burn patients but would not be asked to perform burn cares. Special Equipment : ICU experience required. No burn experience necessary. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. #Tier3 Travel Compliance RTO Requirements : Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week) Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract. Generally all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required. Some units are stricter than others regarding holidays (ED allows for 1 holiday off). Floating : Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler s assignment if the primary unit no longer has a need shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract. Local Radius : 50 miles from the facility Local Rule : locals are not accepted 1 st Time travelers accepted in some units License : must be in hand at submittal Minimum experience required : Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to . This is a hard requirement. References : please remove all references no references will be accepted Orientation Schedule : UWH orientation is held every other week typically on a Monday but not all travelers will start on a Monday even if the contract has a Monday start. This is due to department specific orientation schedules. Travelers should follow the start date and time listed in their welcome letter and department schedule. Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave room F8/170 (subject to change traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter). Orientation is typically about one week. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation ventricular tachycardia asystole No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3 rd degree heart blocks 1 incorrect answer will cause failure Passing score of 80% or higher Pediatric Exam Ventricular fibrillation ventricular tachycardia asystole and sinus bradycardia Passing score of 80% or higher Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt their contract may be cancelled. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts Vaya will notify recruitment of the results. Recruitment will notify the hiring manager that the traveler s assignment will be cancelled.
