Job Type: 13-Week Contract Assignment
Shift: Nights 7:00 PM 7:00 AM 36 Hours/Week

About the Opportunity

A respected healthcare facility in Maine is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week contract assignment. This role involves delivering high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes and safe clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments including admission ongoing and discharge evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on physician orders and patient needs
• Administer medications safely and accurately while monitoring patient responses
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with charge capture as required
• Collaborate with physicians case managers and interdisciplinary teams during bedside rounds and care planning
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients visitors and staff
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills and hospital emergency response efforts
• Support quality improvement initiatives and process enhancement programs
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans medications and discharge instructions

Required Qualifications

• Active Maine RN license or Compact RN license
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Strong emergency nursing assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency care environment
• Physical ability to perform essential job duties including standing walking lifting and patient transport assistance

• PPD/TB Screening
• Seasonal Flu Vaccine (HepB declination accepted)
