About the Opportunity
A respected healthcare facility in Maine is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week contract assignment. This role involves delivering high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes and safe clinical practices.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments including admission ongoing and discharge evaluations
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on physician orders and patient needs
Administer medications safely and accurately while monitoring patient responses
Maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with charge capture as required
Collaborate with physicians case managers and interdisciplinary teams during bedside rounds and care planning
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients visitors and staff
Participate in emergency preparedness drills and hospital emergency response efforts
Support quality improvement initiatives and process enhancement programs
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans medications and discharge instructions
Required Qualifications
Active Maine RN license or Compact RN license
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Strong emergency nursing assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency care environment
Physical ability to perform essential job duties including standing walking lifting and patient transport assistance
