An established plaintiff-side litigation firm in Los Angeles is seeking a highly motivated Paralegal with strong civil litigation experience and a demonstrated commitment to litigation-focused work.
The firm is looking for someone with a proactive ownership-oriented mindset who enjoys substantive involvement in complex litigation matters and thrives in a collaborative team setting. This opportunity is ideal for a Paralegal who wants hands-on exposure to all phases of litigation and meaningful participation in trial preparation and trial support.
The practice handles plaintiff-side matters involving catastrophic personal injury wrongful death employment litigation and other complex civil litigation disputes. The litigation team works closely together throughout the life of each case with particularly strong collaboration as matters move toward trial.
This is not a purely administrative or file-management position. The role is heavily focused on active litigation responsibilities strategic case support and trial preparation.
Position Responsibilities
The Paralegal will assist attorneys and litigation teams with a broad range of substantive litigation responsibilities including:
Drafting complaints pleadings and litigation-related documents
Drafting and responding to written discovery
Preparing meet-and-confer letters discovery motions and motions to compel
Assisting with law and motion practice and related filings
Preparing subpoenas deposition notices and deposition summaries
Coordinating and managing document productions and litigation files
Summarizing medical records deposition transcripts and case materials
Assisting with expert discovery expert materials and expert deadlines
Maintaining litigation calendars and monitoring discovery and trial deadlines
Preparing trial materials including exhibit lists witness lists trial binders motions in limine pretrial filings and deposition designations
Coordinating with clients experts vendors witnesses opposing counsel and court personnel
Providing trial preparation and trial support assistance
Conducting legal research utilizing Westlaw LexisNexis and related platforms
Assisting with California state and federal e-filing procedures and court requirements
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation experience attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Preferred Qualifications
510 years of civil litigation experience preferred
Candidates with 3 years of strong litigation experience may also be considered
Experience handling personal injury wrongful death catastrophic injury employment or civil rights matters preferred
Strong litigation drafting and discovery experience required
Experience with trial preparation and trial support strongly preferred
Strong organizational communication and deadline-management skills required
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and team members is required
An active Paralegal Certificate is required

Base salary approximately $90000$140000 BOE
