Reporting Relationship: Corps Officers; Shelter Director

Salary and Grade: $15.00 per hour; 70 Non-Exempt

Position Overview: The function of the Custodian is to maintain a clean and safe environment at all times for the program participants and the staff of the Salvation Armys Rich Fleming Hospitality House and Family Shelter.

Description of Position:

• Maintains the janitorial/cleaning functions of the Rich Fleming Hospitality House and Family Shelter located at 344 N. 7th Street. This includes the building and the corresponding grounds.
• During the winter months this includes snow removal from the sidewalks surrounding the building and parking lot area.
• Receives and stores properly deliveries.
• Maintains janitorial supplies inventory.
• Provides assistance with special projects and events.
• Is on call for problems or concerns related to the cleaning operation and safety of the building.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
• Can operate janitorial equipment.
• Knowleege of Microsoft Office 360 (Word Outlook Excel Powepoint Publisher)
• Bilingual preferred; Able to read write and speak Spanish and English fluently
• Able to work with hand tools and small power tools as needed.
• Able to handle various types of equipment- buffing machine vacuum leaf blower lawn mower etc.
• Must treat all people with compassion and respect.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Pennsylvanias Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance PA State Police Criminal Record Check and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint addition completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
