Scientist I

We are seeking a Scientist I to join IQVIA Laboratories in Durham NC.

Join our dynamic antibody engineering team where youll contribute to cutting-edge antibody discovery using Specificas Generation 3 antibody library platform. Youll work with a collaborative team of experts in molecular biology NGS AI and bioinformatics with an initial 3-month training period in Santa Fe NM before relocating to Durham NC.

What youll be doing:

• Performing antibody selections using phage and yeast display technologies.
• Validating antibody libraries and optimizing antibody affinity.
• Executing molecular biology techniques including PCR cloning and DNA assembly.
• Designing genes and primers; analyzing sequences for accuracy and optimization.
• Following and contributing to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records using electronic lab notebooks.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve processes.
• Adapting to fast-paced project timelines and contributing to team goals.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelors degree in Biology Biochemistry Molecular Biology Chemical Engineering Immunology or related life science field with 3 years of relevant experience in biotech or pharma.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR cloning and sequence analysis.
• Experience with gene and primer design.
• Other equivalent combination of education training and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The knowledge skills and abilities needed for this role:

• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks and willingness to learn new systems.
• Interest or experience in flow cytometry yeast display or lab automation is a plus.
