The Opportunity
More Than Words (MTW)seeks ahigh energycreative highly motivated and detail-orientedpersontojointheBostonretail thrift storeteam.Reporting to the AssociateDirector of Retail this position provides a hands-on real-world opportunity to apply business acumen in the daily operations and strategic growth of a nonprofit social enterprise. TheStore Managerwill support oversight of all aspects of theretail storeincluding maximizing profitability training inventory management donation processing and supportingandcoachingyouth employeesonretailshifts.
Key responsibilities of this position includebut are not limited to
Operational Management (Retail)
- Oversee all safety policies and procedures onretailshifts including those that require the need to supervise a group of up to6employees.
- Perform opening and closing duties of a key holder includingbut not limited toprocessinginventorycashmanagementand nightly deposits recording KPIs and daily hand off report.
- Ensure success of all business activities:execute customer service at a high standardensure daily processing targets are metmanage visualmerchandising and dailyprojectsandmeet financial goals.
- Support marketing effortsincluding digital marketing store activations and customer engagement.
Staff Training:
- Work alongsideyouthemployeesin our Core Social Enterprise teamto provide ongoing trainingfeedbackand support foremployeesto improve performance.
- Holdyouthemployees accountable for all safety policies and performance including attendance punctualityprofessionalismand efficiency with tasks on shift.
- Providetraining guidanceandpromptfeedback toemployees includingaddressing performance and providing professional development to the team.
- Model best customer service practices forassociates and processorson shift.
Key Qualifications:
- Have at least5 years ofretailexperience and a proven ability to inspire and compel others to exceed expectations
- Have successful experience teachingtrainingor supervising new learners and a talent for empowering and engaging others to work together to achieve goals
- Must be a high-energy person who enjoys teaching others hitting goals and working in a fast-paced environment
- Shouldbe able to provide great customer service andpossesstechnologicalaptitude andhave a desire to achieve business goals
- Must be abletolift boxes weighing approximately 25lbs
Schedule:Wednesday to Saturday schedule with2 9-hour shifts and 2 11-hour shifts.
Compensation:$52000-$57749;commensuratewith skills and experience
