About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our Finance team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting product costing inventory valuation budgeting variance analysis and cost optimization initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills hands-on ERP system experience and the drive to continuously improve financial processes and business performance.

What You Will Do
- Manage and maintain the product costing system using standard costing methodology.
- Perform cost analysis and investigate manufacturing cost variances.
- Prepare product costing data for annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Monitor inventory valuation and ensure effective inventory controls are in place.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to costing and inventory.
- Prepare capital investment appraisals including Payback Period and Net Present Value (NPV) analysis.
- Track analyze and validate cost savings initiatives and operational improvement projects.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of costing data within the ERP system.
- Collaborate with production procurement and operations teams to improve cost efficiency.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives and implementation of new financial systems or controls.
- Prepare reports and financial analysis for management decision-making.
What You Will Need
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA CIMA ICAEW MICPA or equivalent.
- Bachelors Degree from a university recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
- 12 years of working experience in a mid-sized manufacturing company.
- Experience working with computerized ERP systems; SAP (FI/CO) experience is an added advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Good understanding of standard costing variance analysis inventory control and budgeting processes.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Energetic proactive and willing to learn new systems and processes.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to develop a long-term career within the company.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
