Putnam Hospital a 164-bed acute care hospital has been serving the local community in Carmel New York for 60 years. JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse plans coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the units standards of care. He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff physicians patients and families with consideration and respect.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program

Licensure/Registration/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS required ACLS credentialing within one year of hire

Work Experience:

Professional nursing experience of one or more years desirable.
Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served Specialty unit employees for areas such Endoscopy and the Minor Room
Must meet clinical competency standards specific to the assigned patient care area

Physical & Other Factors: Position requires considerable walking standing moderate lifting. Work & Environmental Conditions: Exposed to patient elements and handling of emergencies and critical patient incidents
