    About the role

    As a Child & Family Practitioner with the Families Together program you will play a meaningful role in supporting families at a pivotal point in their lives. Working intensively and in partnership with families experiencing complex challenges you will deliver strengthsbased homefocused support that helps keep children safe connected and thriving within their family. Through traumainformed culturally responsive and childcentred practice youll support families to build on whats already working reduce risk and create positive lasting change.

    This role offers the opportunity to form genuine trusting relationships and see the real impact of your work over time. You will engage with families through regular home visits undertake thoughtful assessments develop achievable and familyled plans and coordinate practical therapeutic and community supports. Alongside advocacy and collaboration with other services youll be part of a passionate growing team shaping a new Families Together program locally contributing your ideas expertise and values while being supported to do your best work in a role that is both professionally rewarding and deeply fulfilling.

    Duties

    As a Families Together Practitioner you will:

    • Providehome basedintervention including regular family visits and direct engagement.
    • Assess family strengthsneedsand risks and develop clear familyledsupport plans.
    • Deliverpractical andevidenceinformed interventions includingparenting supportadvocacyand service coordination.
    • Maintainaccuratedocumentationand work collaboratively with familiescolleaguesand partner services.

    Skills and Requirements

    • Relevant qualificationin Social Work Psychology CommunityServicesor a related human services field (Diploma or higher).
    • Experience delivering intensive caseworkwith vulnerable children and families ideally within family preservation childprotectionor communitybased support programs.
    • Sound understanding of traumainformed practice childsafetyand risk assessment with the ability toidentifyand respond to child protection concerns.
    • Strong communicationand engagement skills including culturally safe practice and effective collaboration with families and service partners.
    • Practical requirements including confidence with case documentation and systems a current NSW Drivers Licence and NSW WorkingWithChildren Check.
