Operations & Maintenance Engineer – PV & BESS (MF)

The O&M Engineer PV & BESS ensures the safe reliable and efficient operation of a photovoltaic (PV) power plants and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The role focuses on optimizing plant performance coordinating supervising and monitoring the operational and maintenance activities. The role acts as the primary technical and operational point of contact with the external O&M contractor during the operational phase of the assets.

Key Responsibilities

O&M Coordination & Interface

• Act as the single point of contact between the company and the O&M service provider.
• Ensure compliance with the O&M contract including KPIs SLAs availability and response times.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for PV and BESS assets.
• Review validate and follow up on reports submitted by the O&M contractor (daily monthly annual).

Performance Monitoring

• Monitor plant performance energy production losses and availability.
• Analyze SCADA data and performance reports for PV plants and BESS.
• Identify underperformance issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Track equipment degradation (PV modules inverters batteries EMS/BMS).

Incident & Fault Management

• Coordinate the management of technical incidents alarms and equipment failures.
• Ensure timely resolution of critical alarms and recurring faults.
• Manage technical non-conformities and corrective actions with O&M or EPC contractors.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents.

Technical & Contractual Support

• Support handover from EPC/commissioning phase to O&M phase.
• Participate in technical inspections audits and asset condition assessments.
• Review and approve additional works major repairs or retrofits.
• Provide technical input for O&M contract renewals or renegotiations.

Compliance & HSE

• Ensure compliance with applicable technical regulatory and grid requirements.
• Verify adherence to HSE rules and safety procedures on site.
• Support internal and external technical or HSE audits.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering Energy Engineering or similar technical field.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of PV power plants and/or BESS is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of: PV systems (inverters strings transformers) Battery energy storage systems (Li-ion batteries BMS EMS) SCADA systems and remote monitoring.
• Experience working with external O&M contractors or service providers.
• Good analytical skills for technical and performance data.
• Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with SCADA platforms is a plus.
• Fluent Romanian good command of English (written and spoken).
