Job Title: Charge RN Med Surg / Ortho (Night Shift)
Location: Lewiston ME
Job Type: 13-Week Contract
Schedule: 4 x 12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)

Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical/Post-Surgical Orthopedic unit. This role is responsible for coordinating patient care activities supporting nursing staff and ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities excellent clinical judgment and recent Med Surg and/or Orthopedic nursing experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications IV therapy and blood products according to clinical standards
• Monitor and document patient conditions accurately within EPIC EMR
• Lead and support nursing staff during assigned shifts as Charge RN
• Coordinate workflow and assist with clinical decision-making on the unit
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies safety protocols and patient care standards
• Float to other applicable units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Participate in weekend holiday and rotating coverage schedules as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Maine
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience preferred
• Previous experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Orthopedic units required
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Strong skills in patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration
• Experience using EPIC EMR preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
