Description of the Position (Purpose of the Position):

In this position you will receive process and deliver mail and packages across campus. You must be available Monday-Friday from approximately 11:30am to 1:30pm.

Occasional tasks: Helping students with package pick-up selling stamps envelopes and shipping supplies and assisting students and community members with returns by mail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver mail and packages to offices across campus using a college service van

  • Transfer carts of mail and package from the loading docks to the mail room

  • Process label organize student and staff/faculty packages

  • Provide professional customer service in a fast-paced environment

  • Assist customers with package pick-up

  • Organization and time management with competing priorities

  • Attention to detail in data entry package handling cash handling and payment processing

  • Confidential records management and regulatory compliance awareness (FERPA)

  • Train new student workers on package intake post office procedures and and the driving run


Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to self-manage daily delivery and completion of tasks

  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds required

  • Strong organizational prioritization and time management skills required

  • General knowledge of campus layout and most campus buildings required

  • Valid drivers license with a good driving history required


Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching kneeling/crawling stooping twisting/pivoting reaching overhead grasping/handling pushing/pulling lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs. and driving to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise as well as rare exposure to respiratory factors chemicals extreme cold and/or weather and proximity hazards to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
