The Piping Analysis Engineer will work within the Piping Analysis team of GE Vernova Hitachi (GVH). The Piping Analysis team is responsible for performing analysis of nuclear safety related piping and piping supports to show code and regulatory compliance. The group services the new plants projects organization primarily focused on the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor. The Piping Analysis team has strong interfaces with the Systems Design Civil Structural Design Reactor Design and Integrated Plants Design teams.The Piping Analysis Engineer is required to understand define and analyze piping and pipe supports to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
You will be requested to:
- Utilize knowledge and experience to solve and deliver outcomes to customers
- Work cooperatively throughout GVH to develop approaches for solving technical issues. Communicate potential solutions and work status effectively to the organization
- Support procurement and subcontract activities associated with new plant projects
- Represent GVH at industry forums such as ASME meetings and BWROG conferences
- Maintain and develop technical design procedures associated with piping and pipe support analysis activities.
- Maintain and facilitate the use of analysis software
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Mechanical Chemical or Structural Engineering (Other Engineering Disciplines may be acceptable based on work experience) from an accredited college or university.
For the US
- The preferred work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters Wilmington NC or Atlanta GA.
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons(i.e. U.S. citizens permanent residents and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.
For Canada
- For Canada GE Vernova will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
- This position will report onsite to the Markham ON office 3 days a week.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
- Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience
- Experience with ASME Section III and ASME B31.1 codes
- Experience with pipe and support analysis tools Hexagon PIPESTRESS and GT STRUDL
- Finite Element Modelling Experience
- Dynamic Analysis Experience
- Engineer In Training certificate and desire to obtain PE or P Eng License
- Strong communication skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Strong analytical and process skills
- Strong data analyst capabilities and ability to create small automation scripts to streamline analyses (PYTHON etc.)
- Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment
- A self-starter willing to take initiative

The base pay range for this position is$70100 - $116800 CAD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety offactors including the candidates experience education and skill set.
This position is also eligible for a5% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
