TITLE: Assistant Professor of Economics
LOCATION: 450 S Easton Road Glenside PA 19038
DUTIES: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Economics courses in-person and online. Maintain regular office hours to allow students to reach out and resolve course related issues. Conduct appropriate research and be scholarly active in alignment with the Universitys expectations for tenure. Serve as an academic advisor to a select group of undergraduate students by assisting them in their course selection. Provide other academic related support to advisees and students in the class to ensure that students thrive and succeed in their program. Serve as the coordinator for the Economics Program (Minor in Economics) within the School of Global Business (SGB). Perform appropriate service to the school and to the University as assigned. Develop and maintain relationships with larger business and academic community to understand the current needs and trends in the field of economics that will ensure students are prepared for the workforce. Perform necessary assessments within the course and program as needed to aid the SGB in maintaining the ACBSP accreditation.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Economics or related field is required by August 2025; A.B.D.s will be considered. Preference will be given to those with at least two (2) years of college teaching experience teaching general and specialized Economics courses of which at least one (1) year includes student advising for students in economics programs. Experience can be gained pre or post attainment of PhD. Preference will be given to those who have relevant industry experience in the field of economics or related discipline as well as a record of publication and scholarly development as a demonstrable foundation for active engagement in the academic discipline of economics.
