Airgas is Hiring for a Director - Business Process Improvement in Long Beach CA!The Director of Business Processes is responsible for promoting a business process excellence culture acting as the Order to Cash Division expert as well as for implementing improvement strategies in support of Airgas Field and Business Support Center (BSC) operations. This individual will be an integral contributor in developing solutions and leading expert training teams with an overall focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness internal controls customer service and EBITDA performance.

Continuous Improvement
Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies.
Conduct internal process benchmarking in partnership with process stakeholders to identify best-in-class solutions as well as areas to enhance performance efficiency and productivity.
Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
Demonstrate financial acumen by developing compelling business cases supporting recommended opportunities.
Ensure sustainability of all improvements post-implementation by partnering with cross-functional team leaders and process owners to define the optimal performance measurements to track and measure success over time.
Training
Develop and implement SAP technical processes and Continuous Improvement training.
Train coach and mentor select associates in the Six-Sigma principles and practices of driving transformational change.
Direct and execute strategies that ensure that Training teams meet the goals and levels of production or service required by their company.
Collaborate with the Compliance Manager on Airgas Operating Standards Compliance training for the division.
Data analysis
Analyze operational data and feedback to identify pain points and areas for improvement.
Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and create action plans for improvement.
Design and implement meaningful yet measurable operational metrics and practices to identify/monitor department performance through the creation of operational efficiencies.
Drive innovation by continually assessing work flow processes and implementing improvements that are high impact and insightful.
Order to Cash & Acquisitions
Analyze root cause and provide resolution recommendations for Order to Cash one-off or systemic issues.
Liaise with subject matter experts including Credit/Collections Special Handling Central Billing Cash Applications Sales Customer Service etc. to evaluate OTC issues and determine a course of action.
Lead the evaluation of order-to-cash process improvement opportunities.
Manage the process of timely and accurate completion of all tasks required to complete an acquisition/merger scratch-start and plant closure in collaboration with region stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelors Degree / Four-year college degree from an accredited institution
110 years of progressive professional experience including business process improvement order to cash experience
Experience successfully leveraging business analytics to inform decisions
Systematic problem solver focused on implementing solutions to solve root cause problems
Comfortable with out of the box thinking and challenging status quo
Strong ability to partner across a complex decentralized organization and influence outcomes at all levels
Ability to communicate and deliver presentations with impact
Solid computer skills (i.e. Excel Database programs)
Extensive knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Team player who can collaborate to drive better outcomes
Ability to set goals and motivate self
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Strong project management skills
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
Comprehensive understanding of efficiency principles such as Lean/Six Sigma; Green belt
Experience in industrial or manufacturing industries strongly
Experience in industrial gas / hardgoods companies or industrial companies strongly
