Job Summary

Hourly Rate: $18.00

DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

To assist in supporting manufacturing processes improving production efficiency and contributing to the development and implementation of manufacturing methods in accordance with Prides procedures and protocols

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Assist engineers with improving and supporting manufacturing processes assembly methods and production workflows

Assist with troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency

Support prototype builds pilot runs and transition of new products into production

Assist in developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and work instructions

Assist with process documentation time studies and workflow optimization initiatives

Support continuous improvement activities including Lean Manufacturing initiatives

Assist with fixture design tooling improvements and basic manufacturing support equipment

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action processes

Assist with component inspection testing and validation activities as required

Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

Focus on continuous improvement and consistently demonstrate good business judgment

Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word Excel and PowerPoint

Basic mathematical and reading skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

No experience required

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Pursuit of a Bachelors degree in an Engineering related field

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prospective interns must:

Be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Be at least in the equivalency of successfully completing Sophomore year of college before starting the internship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Provide approval documents from their college or university to receive college credit preferred

Related project or internship experience in manufacturing production processes or process improvement preferred

Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S Kaizen or continuous improvement initiatives preferred

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes assembly methods and production workflows preferred

Familiarity with ERP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) preferred

Ability to lift/push/pull 40 lbs. preferred

Ability to provide examples of process improvement workflow optimization or manufacturing-related projects preferred

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions preferred

Current or previous successful internship experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
