Role Overview

As the Senior Product Integration Engineer at Harbinger you will drive the physical and functional integration of the entire vehicle. Operating within our dynamic startup environment you will ensure that diverse subsystemsfrom powertrain to interior trimfit function and are fully manufacturable. You will take complete ownership of the Digital Mock-Up (DMU) and actively manage the master CAD assembly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Master Assembly Management: Lead the integration of all vehicle subsystems within CATIA V6 ensuring spatial compliance clearance requirements and interface integrity.
  • PLM Architecture: Manage the product structure lifecycle states and engineering changes within ENOVIA. Ensure all engineering data is accurate accessible and strictly maintained.
  • Clash & Clearance Analysis: Perform rigorous DMU reviews to identify packaging conflicts early in the development cycle. Work directly with Lead Engineers to resolve physical interferences.
  • Interface Control: Define and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between hardware modules (e.g. establishing critical mounting strategies between the battery pack and chassis).
  • Mass & Weight Management: Track analyze and report on vehicle mass properties center of gravity and weight distribution.
  • Cross-Functional Engineering: Act as the technical liaison among Design Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure the virtual design translates successfully to physical production.
  • Variant Strategy & Control: Define and manage the 150% Master Product Structure within ENOVIA. Ensure that all vehicle variants (options regional requirements and trim levels) are logically organized and selectable.
  • Effectivity Management: Implement and oversee Evolution and Variant effectivity. Ensure the correct parts are associated with specific VIN configurations and production schedules.
  • Option Code Logic: Collaborate with Product Management to translate marketing and sales requirements into technical Option Codes and configuration rules within the PLM environment.
  • Configured DMU Validation: Validate the CAD assemblies for every possible build combination. Ensure that selecting distinct options does not create physical interference with standard components.
  • BOM Transformation: Manage the relationship between the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and the Sales/Manufacturing configurations to maintain seamless data flow across departments.

Required Technical Skills

  • CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE: Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling with critical experience in Large Assembly Management.
  • ENOVIA PLM: Deep understanding of ENOVIA architecture including BOM management part numbering schemes and release workflows.
  • Automotive Packaging: Proven experience in vehicle architecture occupant packaging and legal/regulatory clearance requirements (e.g. vision zones tire envelopes).
  • GD&T Proficiency: Strong grasp of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to validate component fitment during physical assembly.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 36 years in automotive product integration packaging or systems engineering.
  • Software: Verifiable professional experience using CATIA V6/3DEXPERIENCE in a complex collaborative environment.

California Pay Range

$140000 - $160000 USD
