The Wind Engineering Advanced Systems team oversees the global wind technology roadmap technology portfolio and conceptual turbine design. As Systems Conceptual Design Engineer you are part of a conceptual design team that is running turbine and blade designs value and risk assessment at the very early design stage for product design and product strategy decisions.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Run drive and coordinate Next Gen turbine designs
Build new turbine topology Simpack models and run associated loads and AEP simulations and optimizations for platform evolutions and new turbine designs
Run new blade conceptual designs
Run cost estimates transportability and installability assessments
Summarize findings within value and risk assessments
Support the Conceptual design methods and tools development across all fidelity levels from derivatives to unsteady full degree of freedom multibody simulation
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
Experience in wind turbine systems design first level loads and value trade-off studies
Understanding of numerical modelling of wind turbines
Experience in aero-elastic simulations (e.g. Hawc2 Simpack Bladed)
Programming skills (Python Matlab C)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills solid network within the wind engineering organization ability to easily connect across teams and disciplines
Desired Characteristics
Experience in engineering software development (Python)
Solid technical knowledge of GE Vernova Wind platforms including main subsystems features and limitations
Project management experience
