Job Summary

The Solution Development Engineer will be involved in all aspects of quoting project opportunities for the supply & installation of upgrades & enhancements to existing Dematic systems.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Predominantly working with Dematics existing customer base the role involves interpreting customers requirements for upgrade and extension projects to produce the following:

Specification
Project solution
Layout drawings
Project programme
Costing sheet
Offer document
Verify unit cycle times system throughput and initial dimensional requirements
Liaise with internal engineering departments and external sub-contractors to further develop the project definition
Design Risk Assessments

What We Are Looking For:

Degree in related engineering discipline or advanced degree but may be substituted with experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
Demonstrate and apply a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
Successfully apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts practices and procedures of particular area of specialization to provide mechanical estimates.
Demonstrate knowledge of organizations business practices and issues.
Material Handling Equipment background with a focus on Case conveyor and Sorters along with the ability to concept solutions and generate estimates to support Sales requests.
Explain with written correspondence and discuss complex unusual problems to other team members to provide proper solutions for customer requests.
Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word Excel Project etc.)
6-10 years of relevant experience.
Experience in designing and commissioning of automated material handling systems including mechanical design concepting and creating layouts.
Proficiency with System Design Application Software (MAESTRO) and AutoCAD.
Experience with Dematic equipment is a plus.
