Job Title: Medical Technologist

Location: Cleveland Ohio

Shift: Day Shift 5x8 Hours (08:00 AM 04:30 PM)
Contract Duration: 52 Weeks

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist for a long-term assignment in Cleveland Ohio. The ideal candidate will perform and interpret laboratory testing at all complexity levels while maintaining compliance with laboratory quality regulatory and safety standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing and interpret results accurately across multiple complexity levels
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling processing analysis reporting and documentation
  • Correlate abnormal laboratory findings with pathological conditions and determine the need for additional testing
  • Monitor and verify quality controls calibrations and maintenance procedures
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA regulations and laboratory quality assurance standards
  • Troubleshoot testing discrepancies and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment according to manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain accurate and legible laboratory documentation and records
  • Participate in proficiency testing and competency assessments
  • Communicate laboratory results and specimen requirements to authorized personnel
  • Support training and education activities for laboratory staff and students as needed

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Biological Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution required
    OR
  • Must meet CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel

Certifications

  • Medical Technologist (MT) certification or certification eligibility preferred through ASCP or AMT

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality control and regulatory standards
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume fast-paced clinical environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform detailed visual work including microscope use
  • Ability to distinguish color variations accurately
  • Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required for specimen handling and equipment operation
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as needed
  • Exposure to laboratory chemicals biohazards and other clinical materials may occur
