    PAY FOR POSITION: PSE Salary Schedule Level 6 - $ 25.78 (25-26 PSE SALARY SCHEDULE)

    GENERAL SUMMARY
    This position helps coordinate a process to identify students who are deficient in credits toward a four year high school diploma. Assist the counseling department in the development of strategies interventions and graduation action plans with students and parents and will provide ongoing tracking and monitoring to reinforce student progress toward on-time graduation.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Depending upon the individual assignment the Clerk ï½ On-Time Graduation Success Coordinator may perform all or a combination of the following:

    1. Help coordinate a process of identifying and assessing students who may need guidance and support in meeting a graduation plan.

    2. Assist in helping with 9th grade transition from 8th grade.

    3. Serve as the lead liaison in organizing the communication between students counselors teachers and parents for the purpose of monitoring of the student graduation action plans; work collaboratively with existing school teams and committees.

    4. Track all documents pertaining to students and parents who have been identified for additional support for On Time Graduation; track students academic progress; maintain records and prepare reports.

    5. Gather and analyze data and information for assessing and monitoring student progress.

    6. Assist the counseling department in connecting students to interventions and services that will support the attainment of the high school diploma. Serve as the school contact to exchange confidential information about students.

    7. Help ensure a family-friendly atmosphere at the site which includes taking into consideration the multi-cultural needs of the school and community.

    8. Assist the school administration regarding student disciplinary issues that affect student graduation plans.

    9. Assist in the scheduling of parent and teacher conferences as necessary for monitoring and supporting student progress.

    10. Will utilize various means of communication to students that positively reinforces progress or alerts them to further interventions that need to occur.

    11. Use computers and related technologies.

    12. Perform related duties as assigned.


    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
    Reports to the school administrator or designee.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Work is typically performed in an office classroom or program site. Incumbent is typically required to deal with difficult or conflict situations; may be exposed to infectious diseases. Incumbent must travel to work sites.

    MENTAL DEMANDS
    Required to meet inflexible deadlines; occasionally required to deal with distraught or frustrated people.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    Requires visual concentration; exposed to visual display terminal for prolonged periods; required to sit for prolonged periods.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
    Knowledge of the characteristics and processes for assessing and identifying students who need additional support to achieve academic success; knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret rules and regulations as they pertain to high school graduation requirements; knowledge of strategies that enhance student learning.

    Knowledge of basic record keeping standard office procedures and equipment operations including a computer and related software.

    Evidence of strong human relations skills reflected in the ability to effectively work with students and families from diverse backgrounds; skills and experience working with students with a variety of needs; evidence of strong communication skills both oral and written; evidence of leadership abilities and strong organizational skills.

    Experience working with community agencies.

    Ability to adapt to change.

    Education and Experience
    High school diploma or equivalent and two years related experience working in a school or community-based operation. A.A. Degree (Associates of Arts) or B.A. Degree preferred.

    Licenses/ Special Requirements
    Requires fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation abuse injury or neglect of a minor. Must complete training in and adhere to district infection control plan. A valid Washington state drivers license is required for in and out of district travel.
