POSITION SCOPE
The Buoy Waterborne Foreman (often acting as a Marine Foreman Mooring Master or Tender Foreman) is responsible for leading crews in the installation maintenance and repair of navigation buoys mooring systems and other waterborne infrastructure. This role requires a combination of hands-on maritime experience and leadership with a strong focus on safety equipment operation and efficient execution of marine-based construction activities. Travel is required.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Lead and manage waterborne crews providing direction guidance and supervision to ensure efficient and safe operations
- Plan and organize buoy setting drilling and marine construction activities according to project specifications and environmental conditions
- Oversee installation inspection and maintenance of buoys anchors chains and mooring systems
- Operate marine equipment such as cranes winches hoists rigging systems and support vessels as needed to complete work activities
- Collaborate with project managers customers and engineers to interpret and implement plans ensuring alignment with project goals
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations including PPE Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) confined space and hot work procedures
- Maintain accurate timecards and other records of daily operations including equipment usage production and project progress
- Coordinate the delivery and allocation of materials equipment and personnel to optimize workflow and productivity
- Assist in training crew members promoting skill development and fostering a positive team environment
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide effective solutions in dynamic marine environments Respond to and manage emergency situations while maintaining a safety-first mindset
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- 35 years of experience in marine construction maritime operations or a related field
- Previous foreman or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with buoy installation mooring systems or marine rigging strongly preferred
- Valid Drivers License required with clean motor vehicle record
- TWIC Card required or ability to obtain one
- Proficiency in operating marine equipment and rigging systems
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team In-depth understanding of safety regulations and a track record of promoting a safe work environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within project timelines
- Ability to interpret technical information and communicate effectively with project stakeholders
