Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
Provide legal and business advice across a broad range of corporate matters to support a multinational companys global operations. The role includes responsibility for corporate contracting compliance governance and dispute management while ensuring alignment with applicable local and international laws and internal policies. Professional English language is a must have.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide legal counsel on corporate commercial employment regulatory and compliance matters.
- Draft review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including supply service and vendor contracts.
- Ensure company operations comply with Mexican federal and state laws as well as relevant international regulations.
- Support corporate governance initiatives and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters coordinating with external counsel where necessary.
- Conduct legal research and provide proactive guidance on legal risks and emerging regulatory developments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including management HR finance and operations teams.
- Assist in developing and delivering legal training to employees.
- Work independently on projects of increasing complexity exercising sound judgment and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Typically reports to Global Legal Department (e.g. Senior Corporate Counsel Assistant General Counsel).
- No direct supervisory responsibilities.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong legal and business judgment with a practical business-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Excellent drafting negotiation and communication skills in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities work independently and handle complex matters.
- High level of integrity professionalism and ethical standards.
- Strong analytical and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Law degree (Juris Doctor or equivalent) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Mexico and in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience (law firm and/or in-house) preferably within a multinational or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican corporate commercial labor and regulatory law; international experience is an advantage.
- Equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
Professional English knowledge is a must have.
