Embark Behavioral Health is seeking anAdmissions Counselorto guide families through the intake process for residential treatment for their teenagers. In this role youll serve as a trusted point of contact for caregivers during a pivotal moment helping them understand their options and confidently take the next step toward care. Youll collaborate with internal teams manage a high volume of calls and ensure admissions are handled accurately and efficiently. Your work will play a meaningful role in connecting youth and families to the support they need.

Responsibilities

  • Educate families aboutEmbarksservicesand continuum of care assess studentfit present cases to the clinical team and advocate for both the student and their family throughout the admissions process

  • Provide informed consent to prospectivefamiliesby reviewing insurance benefitsfinancial responsibility and the creation of good faith estimates

  • Plan and coordinate admissions logistics in collaboration with the Admissions Director onsite teams and prospective families while balancing AverageDaily Census (ADC) and minimum wait time goals.

  • Assist with case management up to 14 hours per week supporting residents in SUD services and state placements completing documentation and coordinating calls between residents and external providers

  • Work in collaboration with the Admissions Director tomaintainawareness of bedspaceavailability and census needsto relevant stakeholders.

  • In collaboration with the Admissions Director serve as a communication bridge between the clinical team utilization review team and leadership teams by sharing updates trends and strategic insights to better the admissions experience for enrolling families.

  • Document all calls emails and activities with prospective families efficiently in Sales Force and collect accurateandtimelypayment from families upon admission.

  • Organize and lead family and referral partner tours in partnership with theDirector of Clinical Partnership (DCP)and on-site team.

  • Provideappropriate resourcesand referrals to families who are nota fitfor Embark programs.

  • Work closely with the Admissions and Executive Director todetermineadmissions and programmatic needs andproblemsolve accordingly.

  • Provide support for a few hours one weekend per month as needed.

Qualifications

What we are looking for (Preferred):

  • Masters degree in counseling a plus!
  • Experience with case management and care coordination
  • Sales or marketing experience ideally in a service-oriented environment
  • Ability to confidently handle sensitive conversations with professionalism and urgency.
  • Working knowledge of DSM-V and behavioral health terminology
  • Personable empathetic and professional approach when supporting individuals and families in crisis

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in psychology counseling social work or related field
  • Experience working in a behavioral health or human services setting
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook Word Teams)
