We are recruiting for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to support our Sacramento-based client a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to improving lives across the region. This executive leader will oversee all financial strategy operations and systems ensuring strong fiscal stewardship and long-term organizational sustainability.

- Hybrid 2 days onsite in Sacramento
- Salary range: $180000-$200000 DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for all financial operations including budgeting forecasting accounting audit coordination and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards and all regulatory requirements.
- Lead financial planning and analysis to support organizational goals program expansion and long-term sustainability.
- Oversee cash flow management investment strategies and financial risk mitigation.
- Partner with the CEO Board of Directors and senior leadership to support strategic planning and organizational decision-making.
- Manage and mentor finance staff fostering a culture of accountability accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with program development and operations teams to ensure financial transparency and effective resource allocation.
- Support grant management restricted funds tracking and donor reporting requirements.
- Oversee financial systems process improvements and technology modernization initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
- 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience including executive-level oversight.
- Finance experience required; familiarity with fund accounting and grant compliance strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading budgeting forecasting and financial reporting in a complex multi-entity environment.
- Strong analytical strategic planning and communication skills.
- Experience partnering with executive leadership and boards.
- Proven ability to lead teams manage change and strengthen financial infrastructure.
