Role Overview
The Horticulturist is responsible for supporting the successful delivery and maintenance of high-end residential gardens through expert plant knowledge horticultural care and planting coordination. This role involves overseeing plant health assisting with planting design implementation maintaining premium landscape standards and supporting project teams across design build and maintenance operations.
The Horticulturist will work closely with landscape teams designers nursery staff suppliers and clients to ensure all planting and horticultural elements are delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Planting & Horticultural Management
Oversee planting operations across residential landscape projects.
Ensure all planting is carried out in accordance with design specifications and horticultural best practices.
Monitor plant health and implement appropriate maintenance and treatment programmes.
Advise on plant selection soil conditions irrigation and seasonal care requirements.
Maintain exceptional horticultural standards across all sites.
Nursery & Plant Care
Support the management and maintenance of the six-acre nursery.
Monitor stock quality plant health and growing conditions.
Coordinate plant sourcing deliveries and stock organisation.
Assist with seasonal plant displays and garden centre presentation standards.
Ensure nursery operations comply with health safety and environmental standards.
Project Support & Coordination
Work closely with project managers and landscape teams during project delivery.
Assist in scheduling planting activities in line with project timelines.
Support procurement and ordering of plants and horticultural materials.
Attend site visits and provide horticultural recommendations where required.
Assist with aftercare programmes and client handovers.
Client & Team Support
Provide expert horticultural advice to clients and internal teams.
Support the ongoing development of horticultural knowledge within the business.
Assist in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and growers.
Contribute to creating exceptional client experiences and premium garden environments.
Operational & Administrative Support
Maintain accurate plant records and inventory information.
Support quality control and reporting on planting works.
Assist with operational planning during peak seasonal periods.
Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Qualification in Horticulture Landscape Management or related discipline preferred.
Relevant horticultural certifications or training are advantageous.
Experience & Expertise
Minimum 3 years experience in horticulture landscaping nursery operations or garden maintenance.
Strong plant knowledge including trees shrubs perennials and seasonal planting.
Experience working on high-end residential or commercial landscape projects is desirable.
Knowledge of plant health soil management irrigation and seasonal care practices.
Full clean driving licence preferred.
