Job Summary

The Director of Fieldwork and Certification oversees two essential components of the College of Human Development Culture and Media (CHDCM) at both the undergraduate and graduate levels: field based experiences and certification. The Director is part of the Colleges Office of Student Success which is an organizational extension of the Office of the summary the Director is responsible for the leadership and administration of internships practicum and academic clinical field experiences including coordinating all activities related to the day-to-day operations strategic initiatives and evolving site-based partner liaising. The Director manages the collection of student data to ensure adherence to state requirements for certification through the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and accreditation requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Oversee and coordinate undergraduate and graduate student internships practicum and academic clinical field experiences utilizing the CHDCMs placement management software to track the ongoing collection of assessment data to ensure quality educational experience for all students in adherence to state and national program standards. Participate in data analysis needed for accreditation and continuous program improvement.
*Provide leadership for communicating current certification requirements to students and faculty. Serve as administrator for the CHDCMs software systems and make recommendations grounded in the fulfillment of all requirements related to student nominations for certification and/or licensure.
*Serve as the liaison with campus partners (e.g. Office of the Provost Business Affairs General Counsel Compliance) to ensure the timely processing of contracts and agreements for internship sites for all programs. Manage the agreement archive monitoring agreement renewals working with faculty and external partners to ensure adequate and appropriate field site locations.
*In conjunction with relevant advisory groups develop and retain partnerships and relationships with school districts clinical environments administrators cooperating teachers and external sites in order to secure best practice placements for students and to support accreditation conjunction with the Associate Deans of College Effectiveness and Student Success manage advisory group membership set agendas and chair meetings each semester including data review discussions.
*Provide fieldwork-related orientation sessions for students faculty and school partners each semester to ensure accurate information dissemination for all involved. Develop implement review and update policies and clinical handbook and webpages for guidance to cooperating teachers clinical supervisors and students for all areas related to field placements across the range of the Colleges undergraduate and graduate academic portfolio. This includes evaluation instruments placement policies compliance with NJ DOE and NJ Division of Consumer Affairs as well as national accreditation requirements timesheet information and all other aspects of placements.
*Manage and supervise several Graduate Assistants in the fulfillment of appropriate tasks associated with fieldwork and certification; Oversee varied office initiatives including annual awards and recognition dinner for students faculty and program communications and participation in the Office of the Deans activities.

Required Qualifications:

*Masters degree Field of study: Field applicable to CHDCM academic portfolio
*1-3 years of leadership and/or supervisory experience in PreK-12 and/or postsecondary educational environments strongly preferred. Required familiarity and comfort leading and collaborating with diverse populations of stakeholders.
