Job Summary
The Summer Tutor Counselor supports the six-week Educational Talent Search (ETS) Summer Enrichment Program by supervising middle and high school participants and assisting with daily program operations. The Tutor Counselor helps ensure a safe structured and engaging environment while supporting academic recreational and other enrichment activities for ETS students. The position also assists instructors and staff in creating a positive learning environment that supports the college awareness and academic development goals of the ETS Summer Enrichment Program. This position is designed for high school seniors (graduating) and above including current college students.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor and supervise middle and high school participants enrolled in the ETS Summer Enrichment Program during program hours and activities.
- Assist program instructors and staff with academic recreational and other enrichment activities.
- Support classroom management and help maintain student engagement during instructional sessions.
- Escort and supervise students during lunch recreational activities campus tours and field trips.
- Help maintain a safe respectful and organized environment for all program participants.
- Assist with general program logistics and daily operations as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Job is physically comfortable; individual is normally seated and has discretion about walking standing etc. May occasionally lift very lightweight objects.
Working Conditions:
Standard working environment with possible minor inconveniences due to occasional noise crowded working conditions and/or minor heating/cooling or ventilation continuous use (>70% of the time) of a video display terminal.

Updated Qualifications:
- Education: Requires high school diploma or GED
- Experience: Prior experience is not required; however any experience working with middle or high school students is strongly preferred. This may include leadership roles in high school and/or college mentoring tutoring coaching volunteering or participation in student organizations or programs. Experience working with first-generation and/or income-eligible student populations is preferred.
Compensation: The compensation for this position is $12.00 hourly.
