Patient Care Assistant Radiology

Position Summary:

Park Nicollet Radiology team members partner with providers to ensure that each patient has a safe caring experience. Patient Care Assistants (PCA) will utilize a broad base of skills in basic patient care to assist patients with preparation for exam during and/or after exam. PCA will establish positive rapport with patients explaining what they should expect during each step of care. All interactions will be handled in a professional caring courteous and safe manner to ensure quality care. PCA will communicate with all other radiology team members to assure positive transitions in care. PCA may assist the technologist or radiologist in the performance of basic patient care.

Perform general clerical tasks within the department to ensure efficiency during the patients radiology imaging exams and services.

Work Schedule: M-F 6:00a-2:30p. May include weekends or holidays.

Required Qualifications:

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

• Must obtain CPR (Basic Life Support) certification once in position.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Strong clinical and human relations skills.
• Basic knowledge of office duties and equipment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Telephone Fax Machine Basic computer/keyboard skills Epic PACS and Copy Machine.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education Experience or Equivalent Combination:

• Previous office experience in a health care environment preferred.
• Previous patient care experience in medical environment preferred.
