Job Summary
Overview
The Duchesne County 4-H summer Intern will support the planning coordination and delivery of youth development programs throughout the summer. This position provides hands-on experience in youth education event planning and agricultural programming. The intern will work closely with the 4-H Program Coordinator to facilitate camps activities and county events while helping create a positive and engaging environment for youth participants.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning organizing and implementing 4-H summer camps including a lead role in planning at least one camp or major activity
- Facilitate and lead hands-on 4-H educational activities for youth
- Support instruction and teaching of workshops demonstrations and group activities
- Assist with setup coordination and supervision during 4-H camps and events
- Represent 4-H by staffing booths at community events and outreach activities
- Provide support at horse and livestock shows including check-in organization and general event assistance
- Assist with management and operation of the county fair exhibit hall including project check-in display setup and youth support
- Help maintain a safe inclusive and positive environment for all participants
- Perform general program support tasks as assigned
- Create and post on 4-H Social media platforms
Qualifications
- Must be a high school graduate
- Experience in 4-H FFA or similar youth programs preferred
- Interest in youth development Family and consumer sciences agriculture or education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and engage groups of youth in a positive manner
- Organized dependable and self-motivated
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends during events
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficient with social media

This position involves both indoor and outdoor work including camps fairs and livestock events. Interns should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and active environments.
