Teen Shelter Services Part Time Milieu Specialist

The Teen Center is currently seeking a temporary Milieu Caseworker to work as part of the Teen Services team. Teen Services is open 24/7 365 days a year and provides services to youth ages 12-20. This position will work within the Preble Street Teen Center and the Joe Kreisler Teen Shelter.

• Milieu Caseworkers work as part of a dynamic team providing and collaborating on casework services to youth experiencing homelessness; staffing the Teen Center and Joe Kreisler Teen Shelter to provide basic services information and referral; and providing crisis intervention in a low-barrier setting.
• The schedule for this position is Friday-Monday from 3pm-9pm.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelors degree in social work or related field or a Bachelors degree with one year of relevant social work experience.

Qualified candidates must also possess the skills and knowledge to effectively work with youth experiencing homelessness toward securing safe stable housing; a commitment to the mission of Preble Street; positive regard for community members accessing homeless services; and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility for employment with Teen Services also requires that staff be at least 21 years of age; undergo and pass a physical examination which includes a test for TB; hold certification or become certified in First Aid (on-site training opportunities offered); provide proof of education (diploma or transcript); and have acceptable background check results. Teen Services staff also must attend recurrent regularly-scheduled trainings which are provided on-site.

Compensation

This position offers competitive pay at a rate of $23.12 per hour.
