The Associate Vice President is a member of the Leadership Team within the Mass General Brigham Development Office (MGBDO). In this capacity the role contributes to the achievement and sustained growth of $1B in annual philanthropic support for Mass General Brigham.

Reporting to the Vice President the Associate Vice President is responsible for advancing the mission of the MGB Development Office through leadership of the MGB Connect Program which enhances philanthropic engagement by providing medical referral assistance and facilitation to individuals seeking support.

The Associate Vice President MGB Connect oversees a defined portfolio of high level constituents who require 24/7 year round support related to medical and healthcare services. Serving as the primary client service liaison this role works closely with Mass General Brigham senior leadership lay volunteers and the institutions major benefactors and their supporters.

As an integral member of the MGB Development Office Leadership Team the Associate Vice President provides strategic input on donor engagement cultivation and stewardship initiatives with a particular focus on strengthening relationships with individuals and families who utilize MGB Connect services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategic Leadership
Partner closely with senior administrative and clinical leaders across Mass General Brigham to scale the MGB Connect team in alignment with the needs of an increasingly integrated health system.
Serve as a key liaison between clinical operations and administration to ensure services are responsive coordinated and consistently delivered across the enterprise.
Lead the design development and formalization of standardized workflows escalation pathways and service models in collaboration with the MGB Concierge Medicine Program.
Implement and continuously enhance a comprehensive bestinclass patient liaison program across Mass General Brigham including identifying new and emerging patient needs and creating connectivity with other MGB stakeholders to help design develop and improve new programming
Operationalize a hightouch program that delivers 24/7 yearround support for the organizations highestlevel constituents.

Fundraising and Donor Engagement
Lead cultivation and stewardship efforts for top-tier donors with a focus on building trust and strengthening long-term philanthropic relationships.
Serve as a senior advisor on donor relations strategy with particular emphasis on principal and transformational gift prospects.
Ensure a seamless highly personalized experience for MGB Connect constituents that meaningfully supports and advances philanthropic engagement.
Track analyze and report on metrics that assess the relationship between MGB Connect activity and the successful solicitation of major and principal gifts.

Team Leadership and Operational Excellence
Lead develop and manage the MGB Connect team serving Mass General Brigham.
Support adoption of standardized service models by engaging key stakeholders clearly defining roles and expectations and reinforcing best practices across administrative and clinical teams.
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all constituent interactions and engagement activities in Blackbaud CRM in compliance with departmental hospital and HIPAA requirements.
Prepare and deliver regular activity reports and analyses as requested by the Vice President of Development and the Chief Development Officer.

Collaboration & Communication
Partner closely with Mass General Brigham leadership institute leaders department chairs clinicians and colleagues to support the complex clinical navigation needs of the MGB philanthropic community.
Build and sustain strong internal relationships to ensure exceptional client satisfaction and service delivery across the enterprise. Key partners include hospital and departmental leadership clinicians nurse managers practice managers administrative directors admitting personnel medical office coordinators chaplains patient advocacy international services concierge medicine patient transport security valet ambassadors and other service providers.
Communicate effectively across a wide range of clinical and administrative environments to promote alignment responsiveness and consistency in service delivery.

Other Responsibilities
Participate actively in management meetings and broader organizational initiatives.
Model and uphold the highest standards of professionalism integrity discretion and collaboration in all interactions.


Qualifications

This position requires 15 years of progressive experience in major gifts fundraising within a large complex organization 10 years of management experience and a bachelors addition the ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with executive leadership.
  • Exceptional relationship building management and customer service skills to maximize philanthropic opportunities
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of health care facilities
  • Analytical skills to implement and analyze tracking
  • Competency functioning well in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in developing department processes
