Position Purpose:
Under general direction of the Commercial & Concessions Supervisor the Campground Supervisor oversees OC Fair & Event Center (OCFEC) campground residential activity associated with the annual OC Fair. Responsible for day-to-day operation of 135 camping units and ID-badged residents. Focuses on highly effective communication and delivery of exceptional internal and external customer service to fully support Renter compliance requirements inclusive of good neighbor behavior and adherence to all applicable safety security and sanitation guidelines during camper move-in occupancy and move-out periods. This is a seasonal temporary position not to exceed 122 days.
Essential Functions:
- Gains full knowledge of OC Fair camping related guidelines in order to implement and maintain RV accommodation standards as outlined in rental agreements Commercial Space & Concessions Program Handbook and other guideline documents that pertain to use of OCFEC camping facilities.
- Represents the OCFEC prior to during and immediately following conclusion of the annual OC Fair.
- Participates in pre-Fair planning with Commercial & Concessions (C&C) department personnel in response to camp space requests assignment and tracking process.
- Involved in preparation distribution collection and filing of campground-specific rental agreements. Prepares corresponding occupants list and updates accordingly. Also ensures receipt of associated insurance certificates.
- Participates in placement of space number signs in advance of camper move-in. Orders replacement space number placards if needed.
- Ensures the readiness and timely access to campground to help ensure an efficient startup for Fair setup as well as ensurance of C&C partner satisfaction.
- Directs and monitors move-in activity in advance of Fair to help ensure a timely efficient correctly placed and safe entry of all contractually approved Renters.
- Check-in of Renters upon arrival and move-in to their assigned space. Confirms receipt of all contractually required paperwork issuance/visible posting of all necessary permits and availability of approved electrical cord/adapter. Contacts Maintenance Department for as-needed utility hookup assistance.
- Directs and monitors Renter move-out activity after conclusion of Fair to help ensure a timely efficient correctly followed and safe egress.
- Walks the campground frequently throughout all scheduled shifts to become and remain familiar with ongoing site activity and individual campers for purpose of helping ensure that all operating aspects including safety security and sanitation are always in order.
- Acts as liaison between Fair-time campground tenants and appropriate OCFEC department personnel who may be needed to assist and support campground operations.
- Communicates in a timely manner with Renter and/or appropriate OCFEC departments to remedy any observed campground deficiencies and/or rental violations.
- Maintains and updates camper spreadsheet to capture Renter information including RV make model size etc records as well as any other distinguishing detail.
- Updates campground map to reflect space-specific placement of contracted Renters. Submits updates to FlowPath for revision.
- Takes photos of RVs accompanying vehicles surrounding areas support facilities (e.g. restrooms showers fencing roadways etc) for evaluation and to provide reference for future Fairs. Takes closeup photos for detail and distant for overall area view.
- Maintains an extended stay list for campers needing to remain on OCFEC grounds to service post-Fair year-round event activity as a Master Concessionaire subcontractor.
- Monitors campground operations to ensure compliance with venue and governmental fire safety & security regulations.
- Responds to emergency situations promptly and appropriately.
- Evaluates operational issues and identifies potential problems and solutions.
- Evaluates overall campground operation and makes recommendations for future Fairs.
- Continually develops and maintains highly effective communication with internal and external OC Fair customers.
- Answers phones/voicemails and emails in a timely manner. Always carries cell phone and radio.
- Assists with unplanned departmental administrative needs that may include other as-assigned reporting requirements.
- Understands that days and hours worked varies with assignments.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 2 years experience in coordinating aspects of an event such as the OC Fair or similar environment; one year of which must have included experience coordinating participants involved in such events.
- Strong planning and organization skills.
- High work standards.
- Ability to multi-task and follow up effectively.
- Shows high degree of energy and ability to remain cheerful when faced with challenges.
- Highly effective problem analysis skills and sound judgment.
- Exhibits flexibility and demonstrates ability to meet frequent/unforeseen deadlines.

- Proficient in MS Word Outlook and Excel software program(s) or similar database experience.
- The ability to apply essential math skills.
- General networking and telephony knowledge.
- Must possess a valid California driver license to operate a golf/utility cart.
- Must be able to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair.
Preferences:
- Hospitality industry or similar field background.
- Experience working with the public in guest services and/or in a general office setting.

Work Environment:
Will work in a fast-paced indoor/outdoor environment with frequent interruptions.
