The Labour Leaders Office is looking for a Social Media Videographer who lives and breathes digital content. This is a fast-paced and creative role. Youll be a core part of our communications team producing short and long-form video that hooks audiences and communicates Labours message.

Youll work closely with the Leader travelling with them around New Zealand for community events and stakeholder engagement and be part of a team thats always in the thick of it. If youre the kind of person whos always thinking about the next piece of content - whether thats a sharp 15-second cut a longer storytelling moment or a creative concept - this role is for you.

What youll be doing

Youll work closely with the Director of Strategy and digital communications team to ensure Labours policies and messaging are effectively communicated across various platforms.

  • Shooting and editing high-quality video for a range of platforms - with a strong focus on short-form vertical content produced to capture attention
  • Covering the Leader at events interviews and community visits - capturing authentic moments that tell a compelling story
  • Developing creative concepts that translate Labours message into content that genuinely performs
  • Planning content alongside the digital communications team thinking across all platforms
  • Monitoring the digital landscape - identifying trends and opportunities early
  • Reviewing performance data and sharpening your approach based on whats working
  • Contributing photo graphic and audio content as needed

What youll bring

We are looking for a skilled videographer with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in social media video and content creation. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating engaging visual materials across multiple platforms and be proficient in industry-standard software.

  • At least three years experience in a video content production role with a strong portfolio of social content
  • A proven storyteller - you know how to hook an audience in the first two seconds and hold them
  • A social media native with sharp instincts for what performs across platforms - including a strong grasp of trends and the ability to produce reactive video memes that land
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro Photoshop After Effects) across Mac and Windows
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable when plans change
  • Discreet trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information with professionalism
  • A genuine interest in New Zealand politics and public affairs

This is a full-time role. Some weekend and late-night work will be required as well as occasional travel with the Leader. The salary range is $75000 $90000. We are open to considering remuneration above this range for candidates who bring significant relevant experience
