Design and Technology Teaching Role in an Independent School

An independent school in Ipswich is seeking to appoint a Design and Technology Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that values creativity innovation and academic achievement.

About the Role

You will teach Design and Technology across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering lessons that may include product design resistant materials engineering principles and practical workshop activities.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design and Technology examinations supporting coursework development and practical assessment work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Design and Technology across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver practical and theory-based lessons

  • Support students in developing design and manufacturing skills

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design and Technology assessments

  • Maintain workshop equipment and ensure safe working practices

  • Assess student work and provide structured feedback

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development

  • Specialism in product design resistant materials or engineering
