The Opportunity

We are seeking an intellectually rigorous Physics Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding secondary academy. In this role you will inspire students to master the fundamental laws governing the universe from the subatomic to the galactic within a city that continues to shape the future of engineering and energy.


The Department & Scientific Culture

  • You will join a prestigious Science faculty where Physics is a high-attaining and popular subject at both GCSE and A-Level.

  • The academy features industry-standard laboratories and specialized physics equipment (including advanced sensors and signal generators) supported by a dedicated team of specialist technicians.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Exemplary Instruction: Delivering high-challenge Physics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Triple and Combined Science) with significant opportunities for A-Level Physics instruction.

  2. Practical Mastery: Leading sophisticated laboratory investigationsfrom investigating circuit components to determining the gravitational field strengthensuring students develop precise technical and analytical skills.

  3. Conceptual Clarity: Demystifying abstract and complex theories including wave-particle duality nuclear fission and fusion and the intricacies of Newtonian mechanics.

  4. Mathematical Integration: Training students to master the quantitative requirements of the curriculum including the manipulation of complex equations and the interpretation of high-level graphical data.

  5. STEM Advocacy: Coordinating school-wide initiatives such as astronomy clubs or robotics challenges to foster a culture of intellectual curiosity and professional ambition.


The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject authority who views Physics as the key to solving the worlds most pressing technological challenges. Requirements include:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong honours degree in Physics Astrophysics or a related Engineering discipline.

  • Proven Track Record: Evidence of delivering exceptional learning outcomes at GCSE and A-Level with a deep understanding of AQA or OCR assessment objectives.

  • Instructional Precision: The ability to explain complex physical laws with clarity making the abstract tangible for students of all abilities.
