Welfare and Attendance Officer
A Good Ofsted secondary school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Welfare and Attendance Officer to join their pastoral support team. This is a key role within the school focused on supporting student wellbeing improving attendance and ensuring students are fully supported both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will monitor attendance and punctuality across the school following up absences and working closely with families pastoral teams and external agencies where required. You will identify attendance concerns early and support intervention strategies to improve student engagement and outcomes.
Alongside attendance responsibilities you will also support student welfare by providing pastoral support helping students manage barriers to learning and contributing to safeguarding procedures where necessary. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and families are essential.
The role requires excellent organisation resilience and the ability to manage sensitive situations professionally and confidentially. You will work collaboratively with staff across the school to maintain a safe supportive and inclusive learning environment.
