This is a full-time permanent leadership opportunity for an experienced practitioner ready to head a successful department and drive academic excellence across all scientific disciplines.

The Role

• Leading and managing the Science faculty ensuring the highest standards of teaching learning and student attainment across Biology Chemistry and Physics.

• Designing and overseeing a stimulating curriculum across KS3 and KS4 while providing strategic oversight for A-Level delivery.

• Mentoring and developing departmental staff through professional learning peer observations and collaborative planning.

• Driving the integration of modern laboratory techniques and digital tools to enhance student research and experimental capabilities.

• Monitoring student data with precision to implement effective interventions and maintain a track record of exceptional results.

• Coordinating departmental resources and managing budgets to ensure a high-quality learning environment for all pupils.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• A strong honors degree in a Science discipline (Biology Chemistry or Physics).

• Proven experience as a successful teacher at all Key Stages with a track record of achieving top grades at GCSE and A-Level.

• Previous leadership experience (e.g. Key Stage Lead or Second in Department) or a clear readiness to step into a Head of Department role.

• Exceptional organizational skills and a professional resilient approach to school leadership.

• A commitment to fostering a love of scientific discovery and critical thinking in every student.
