Physics Teaching Role in a Grammar School

A grammar school in Lincoln is seeking to appoint a Physics Teacher to join its Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a selective school that places strong emphasis on academic achievement and subject excellence.

Physics is a highly regarded subject within the school with strong uptake at GCSE and A-Level. Students are encouraged to develop analytical thinking mathematical application and investigative skills through both theory and practical work.


About the Role

You will teach Physics across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering lessons that develop students understanding of key physical principles including forces electricity energy and waves.

The role includes both theoretical teaching and practical laboratory work supporting students in developing scientific reasoning and experimental skills.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations helping them build confidence in problem-solving calculations and extended written responses.

You will work collaboratively within a high-performing Science department to maintain excellent teaching and assessment standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Physics across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver lessons covering key areas of Physics

  • Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations

  • Assess student work and provide detailed feedback

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Maintain safe laboratory environments

  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development

Essential Requirements

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Good organisational and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Physics

  • Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations

  • Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities
