About the Role:

The firm is seeking a Patent Associate with 2 6 years of experience to join its Denver office. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated intellectual property matters for innovative clients across multiple sectors.

Associates will work closely with experienced attorneys inventors engineers and business leaders on patent prosecution portfolio development and strategic IP counseling. The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy combining technical knowledge with legal strategy in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Areas of focus may include:

  • Patent preparation and prosecution
  • Intellectual property portfolio strategy and development
  • USPTO interaction and patent filings
  • Technology-focused IP counseling
  • Drafting and analyzing patent applications
  • Supporting innovative clients across emerging and evolving technologies

Technologies and industries may include:

  • Consumer electronics
  • Software and web-based services

  • Generative AI and machine learning

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should have:

  • 2 6 years of patent law experience
  • A degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Software Engineering
    • Computer Science
  • Admission to the USPTO or eligibility to sit for the Patent Bar
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent writing analytical and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Preferred but not required:

  • Prior non-legal industry experience involving:
    • Consumer electronics
    • Software or web-based services
    • Full-stack development
    • Generative AI and machine learning
    • Data structures databases and data storage technologies
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
