ITD Planning PM

Job Title: VDOT ITD Planning PM PMP
Location: 9120 Lockwood Blvd Mechanicsville VA 23116

Contract

• Candidate MUST possess an active PMP certification from PMI or PM certification from VITA

• No other certifications qualify

• A copy of the PMP certification must be uploaded to be considered

• Candidate must agree to work onsite 2 3 days/week

• Serve as a hands-on technical Project Manager with development staff and business groups

• Coordinate and communicate with ITD management and staff regarding work tasks and resourcing

• Communicate timelines and expectations to technical and business staff

• Collaborate with vendors consultants and contractors in the execution of projects including contract management and coordination with procurement offices

• Adhere to VDOT and VITA project management practices and governance requirements

• Coordinate with VDOT and VITA Project Management Offices

• Maintain project budgets plans tasks schedules risks and status reports and disseminate information to team members and customers as defined in the communications plan

• Ensure documentation of requirements and use cases and facilitate design workshops for assigned projects

• Ensure definition of test objectives test plans and test cases for assigned projects

• Provide management of project milestones and deliverables for on-time and on-budget delivery

• Define measure and communicate project progress using metrics

• Support system and application training efforts

• Ability to interact effectively with customers and project team members

• Ability to analyze and translate requirements into system specifications

• Knowledge of project management tools methods and practices

• Ability to analyze design develop troubleshoot and implement technology solutions

• Experience with Microsoft Project software

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and Microsoft SharePoint

• Knowledge of data modeling interface management applications and tools

• Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies

• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or VITA certified Project Management certification

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

• Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies

• Ability to program and create custom reports using IT application standard tools

• Combination of training education or experience in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering Business Administration or related field desired

• Progressively responsible experience with system analysis design development testing and troubleshooting

• Agile Scrum Master certification

• Working experience with VDOT ITD

• This position requires a fingerprint-based background check

• PMP certification from PMI or PM certification from VITA is required no other certification qualifies

• 10 years of current Project Management Professional (PMP) experience from the Project Management Institute (PMI)

• 15 years of experience managing large projects

• 5 years of solid understanding of software development life cycle models and expert knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management principles

• 3 years balancing business and technical background with sufficient technical expertise to provide credible leadership to technology teams (Nice to have)

• 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office products including Word Excel Access Outlook Visio PowerPoint and Project Server

• Bachelors Degree required
