Job Summary

Job Title: Scrum Master

Duration (Contract): 6 Months

Job Description:

As a Scrum Master you will manage Agile practices and overall delivery processes for multiple scrum teams creating solutions for Asset Management and Center for Financial Research teams. You will work with highly skilled engineering teams and innovative internal clients building new products for our retail and institutional clients. Our teams maintain and evolve systematic processes that synthesize a broad variety of market company and text data sources to produce equity and fund ratings thematic investing baskets asset allocation datasets educational chart content and other products used by retail clients and SAM portfolio managers. One of our main focus areas at this time is centralizing our research data to make it more accessible across the research organizations and to enable more effective use of the data via advanced analytics and compute capabilities. This role will be central to these activities driving the scrum process but also acting as an unblocker.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all scrum ceremonies for one or more teams building systematic research data distribution asset allocation and charting capabilities
  • Take responsibility for team effectiveness and maintain consistent focus on improving and sustaining delivery. We want our engineering delivery teams to be focused productive and happy without burning out and we look to you to help create the right environment for our people can flourish and enable our business partners.
  • Act as a liaison between our teams and other enterprise organizations understanding and managing dependencies and risks to unblock delivery and ensure quality release and platform monitoring practices.
  • Support our Scaled Agile Framework by representing one or more teams participating in the Investment Research Agile Release Train within the SAM portfolio.

Required Skills Experiences Education and Competencies:

    • Three years of experience working in a role related to software delivery. This could include work as a software developer or QA engineer project or product manager DevOps or support engineer or scrum master. We are looking for engagement with technology delivery and the people and processes involved not particular technical skillsets.
    • Familiarity with Agile practices and - importantly - the principles which underly these practices
    • Strong communication skills as well as emotional intelligence to be able to gain the trust of diverse staff members in various organizations and roles
    • Must be a self-starter motivated by working with others and biased toward action to overcome challenges and deliver quality software
    • Detailed experience in a technical role related to software development
    • Capability to make use of data in evaluating options and driving decision-making
    • Experience exposure or interest in investment research processes and capabilities
    • Experience operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills experience location and industry.
