Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Fill requisitionorders received from the barracks divisions and installations to meet theirrequest for supplies equipment and materials. This includes comparing packingslips with purchase orders utilizing space for storage and reviewingrequisitions for accuracy.
Receive goods anddevelops storage methods including the allocating and arrangement of thestorage facility.
Conduct routineinventory on all stock commodities and reconcile discrepancies.
Assist outsideagencies by issuing warehouse stock and forms.
Assist with loadingand unloading supplies into and out of delivery vehicles. When necessary useMSP vehicles to make deliveries.
Make necessarytransfers and adjustments in the Financial Management Information System(FMIS).
Assists in therequisition of stock commodity inventory replacement.
Analyzes both supplyand distribution operations and makes recommendations for increased efficiency.
Assist in maintenanceof records of inventory control supply issuance and all other QMD relateditems.
Supervises temporaryand contractor warehouse employees. Assist in interviewing hiring andtraining new hires.
Other duties asassigned by Supervisory/Command personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of experience in receiving storing and issuing supplies materials or equipment in a storeroom warehouse or other supply storage facility.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as described aboveon a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics or unit supply field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in receiving andprocessing requisitions for the distribution of supplies.
2. Experience in thedevelopment of storage methods pertaining to the allocation and arrangement ofmaterials and supplies.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employeesinthis classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of amotor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess amotor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
In accordance with Section 2-204 (b) (6) of the PublicSafety Article candidates for positions in this classification will be subjectto an initial drug screening a physical examination and a complete criminalbackground investigation before permanent appointment can be made. A criminalconviction may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.
SELECTION PROCESS
Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifications willbe considered for this classification. Therefore it is essential that youprovide complete and accurate information on your application. Successfulcandidates will be placed on the Eligible List categorized as BEST QUALIFIEDBETTER QUALIFIED or QUALIFIED and remain eligible for consideration for atleast one year from the date of examination. The list will be used by thehiring manager to select employees. The list will be valid for one year.
