Position Summary
The Director of Clinical Research will establish and lead Tribal Healths research portfolio anchoring the organization as a key partner in federally funded community-engaged clinicaltranslation and implementation-focused research.
This position is foundational to Tribal Healths expansion into the research landscape. Without dedicated leadership research opportunities will remain fragmented or inaccessible partnerships with academic institutions may not reach full potential and Tribal Healths unique access and infrastructure will remain underutilized. With this role in place Tribal Health can transition froma service-based organization to a research-enabled organization significantly expanding its
impact funding streams and national presence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and lead Tribal Healths research strategy
Establish partnerships with academic institutions Tribal communities and funding agencies
Serve as Co-Investigator or Multiple PI on NIH HRSA PCORI and foundation grants
Design and oversee implementation of community-engaged research programs
Build research infrastructure (regulatory processes workflows staffing models)
Lead grant development including concept development and collaboration building
Ensure compliance with Tribal federal and institutional research requirements
Facilitate integration of research into clinical and workforce operations
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Other Qualifications
- Advanced degree in life sciences medicine or related field (Ph.D. MD or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical research with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successful clinical trial management and execution.
- In-depth knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements (FDA EMA etc.).
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design methodologies and statistical analysis.
- Experience in budget management and financial oversight of clinical projects.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for clinical research programs.
- Experience with electronic data capture systems and clinical trial management software.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in managing relationships with external partners including CROs and academic institutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.

There may be prolonged periods of sitting keyboarding reading as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles.
