Job Description

The City of Saratoga Springs currently has an opening for a Facilities Custodian. This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week. This position performs routine custodial duties to ensure that facilities are clean safe attractive and secure.

Works under the specific direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and the general direction of the Office & Facilities Administrator. All employees are also under the general supervision of the City Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs custodial and cleaning services such as vacuuming sweeping mopping emptying trash containers dusting furniture walls machines and equipment cleaning interior windows cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms locker rooms kitchens and break rooms polishing fixtures and filling dispensers.
  • May be required to work outside of regular business hours as needed and may be required for emergency cleanup and repairs or scheduled maintenance work.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience working in custodial fields building maintenance or a related field

Certifications Required:

  • Must possess a valid Utah Drivers License.

  • Organize and follow through with multiple custodial projects of various complexity at the same time
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Adhere to best safety practices and comply with OSHA mandates

  • Work involves walking talking hearing using hands to handle feel or operate objects tools or controls and reaching with hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Push pull lift and/or carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Push pull lift and/or move carts of items up to 100 pounds
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet while in the office and moderately loud when utilizing some equipment
  • Work may require the employee to climb balance bend stoop kneel and crouch
  • The employee may be occasionally required to work in outside weather conditions in wet and/or humid conditions near fumes airborne particles and/or toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Work for sustained periods of time while maintaining efficiency attention to detail alertness proficiency and accuracy
  • This position requires the employee to drive City vehicles

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range:
The full salary range is as follows please note hiring will normally occur at the Minimum of the range and will not exceed the Midpoint of the range:

Minimum - $18.19hr.
Midpoint - $21.83/hr.
Maximum - $25.47/hr.

Benefits:

This position does not receive benefits

Schedule:

Monday -Saturday - 4-hour shifts 5 days per week with some flexibility on days and hours. Availability on Saturdays is required
