Your team: You will be a key player within the Features team based in our fast-paced London Bridge newsroom. This team is the creative heart of our flagship platforms including Fabulous and the Sun Club membership scheme reaching millions of readers every day.
Your role: This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior manager bursting with ideas and energy to lead the expansion of Sun Club. You will take a leading role in shaping the voice and content of our membership scheme while managing a talented team of editors and writers to deliver unmissable features.
Day to day you will:
Lead special projects for Sun Club originating innovative ideas for everything from podcasts to video series and live Q&As.
Coordinate with stakeholders across the newsroom to ensure projects are managed seamlessly from conception to publication.
Commission engaging features interviews and real-life stories across print and digital platforms.
Manage and mentor a team of in-house reporters guiding their development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality copy.
Represent the department in conferences taking a leading role in content strategy for the paper and online.
What were looking for from you:
You have a sharp eye for stories and an intuitive understanding of the audience and brand.
You possess multimedia experience with a background in podcasts or video content being highly valued.
You bring digital editing skills including the ability to write compelling headlines for a 24/7 operation.
Proven background as a senior editor or deskhead on a fast-paced national newspaper or digital publication.
Experience in managing or mentoring junior writers to help them perform at their best.
