The SCS Transportation Specialist is responsible for supporting global transportation logistics and trade compliance activities for Software Control Solutions & Services (SCS). This role is critical to meeting on-time delivery and quarter-end shipping commitments while ensuring compliant efficient and customer-focused shipment execution. The specialist will lead cross-regional logistics coordination drive process improvements and support daily shipping operations compliance requirements and performance tracking.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Logistics Execution
Support coordination of inbound and outbound global shipping activities with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Ensure that routing request (TRF) as well as shipping documentation for both Inbound and outbound are accurate and in compliance
Plan package and coordinate product shipments including crating through third-party suppliers while ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.
Document shipment transactions accurately in SAP and related business systems.
Coordinate triangular shipments including drop shipments and pickups from other sites.
Ensure compliance with both contracted and non-contracted transportation lane processes.
Partner with customers and project teams to communicate order status set priorities and expedite shipments when needed.
Trade Compliance & Customs Support
Ensure domestic and international shipments comply with applicable trade and customs requirements including certificates of origin USMCA documentation letters of credit TRS requirements customs/export regulations and packing list accuracy.
Support heavy-weight TRF export/import compliance in alignment with quality management system requirements.
Assist in resolving shipment-related issues and transportation delays.
Serve as an escalation point for logistics compliance support including HTS classification and export documentation.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance shipping efficiency standard work and logistics procedures.
Establish and monitor team daily standard work through Daily Management Cadence (DMC).
Lead problem-solving root cause analysis (RCA) and Lean tool deployment across logistics processes.
Maintain cross-functional operating rhythms to support timely shipment execution across the SCS business.
Support system improvements process standardization and regional best-practice implementation.
Systems Metrics & Reporting
Act as SAP super user for the SCS Logistics team including support for system migrations and multi-region standard operating procedures.
Monitor daily shipping KPIs through the SCS scorecard.
Maintain accurate and timely updates to SCS global logistics dashboards.
Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy across regional dashboards global scorecards and related reporting tools.
Collaboration & Leadership
Interface daily with internal stakeholders including buyers project managers and operations teams to meet business and customer requirements.
Manage relationships with salaried and contracted workforces across the SCS footprint.
Build strong partnerships with buyers and project managers to support execution and issue resolution.
Contribute to broader business initiatives through collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Finance and Quality.
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate leader.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited university in either Business Logistics or Supply Chain.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following:Freight forwarding and parcel transportation
Manufacturing Global supply chain / sourcing Materials planning and execution
Experience with Lean terminology and tools.
Strong SAP and OTM background with data analysis capability.
Desired Characteristics
Experience in logistics import/export operations and transportation across parcel and freight modes.
Experience with SAP and/or other ERP systems.
