Job Summary

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Secondary English teacher with a preference for candidates experienced in teaching Senior English & Senior Literature.

In this role you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs within the English faculty working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team of educators. You will contribute to a contemporary and engaging curriculum supporting students to develop strong literacy analytical and critical thinking skills while achieving high academic outcomes.

You will utilise evidence-based teaching strategies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement reflection and professional growth.

This role includes a strong commitment to student safety and wellbeing ensuring all practices align with the Colleges Child Protection policies duty of care obligations and relevant legislative requirements.

This role commences Term 3 2026.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications in English
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective teaching and learning programs in Secondary English
  • Experience teaching or capacity to teach Senior English or Literature
  • Strong understanding of ACARA and QCAA curriculum requirements
  • Ability to differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs
  • Experience using a range of assessment strategies to inform teaching and improve student outcomes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students parents and colleagues
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to a team environment
  • A commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practice
  • A warm professional and student-centred approach



Child Safety and Wellbeing

  • Demonstrated understanding of child safety wellbeing and duty of care responsibilities
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe inclusive and supportive environment for all students
  • Ability to uphold and implement the Colleges Student Safety and Wellbeing policies
  • Ability to apply a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approach in all child wellbeing activities and child safety matters
  • Completion of mandatory Child Protection training prior to undertaking duties
